How Can We Help? > Options For Funeral Services

Type of funeral

Choosing the type of funeral you'd like is a very personal decision. We have a wealth of knowledge and will give you guidance on how we can help personalise arrangements to exactly what you wish.

Religious or Non religious
We work very closely with local Clergy, Humanists ( Non Religious) and Celebrants ( who can include religious content within their service) to assist you with your wishes, the information we gather is passed onto them and  they will arrange to visit you to discuss arrangements for the service

Burial

Almost all Border towns have their own public cemetery which will be owned and maintained by Scottish Borders Council.

New ground can be purchased in the majority of these cemeteries It may be your family have existing ground within a cemetery, if so we can check through Scottish Borders Council to see if there is space for burials within the ground.

Woodland burial

There are two burials sites within the Scottish Borders, one within  Shawfield Cemetery, Selkirk and one at Hundy Mundy Wood, near Mellerstain, Kelso, we advise families who are considering Woodland burial to visit the sites as they are both very unique and tranquil.

Cremation
