Roy, aged 88, passed on 25th February 2025 after a short illness in America.  Devoted husband and best friend to Christine, loving father to Keith and Paul, surrogate dad to their wives Alimah and Jill, proud grandpa to Thomas and Aamira, beloved brother to Noreen Luke in Canada and the late Pat Fairgrieve, and favourite uncle to their families.

Following the scattering of Roy's ashes on St Boswells Cricket Club's outfield at 5.15pm on Friday 7th March, a celebration of his life will be held in the pavilion when attendees are kindly asked to wear something white to reflect his great lifelong love of cricket, ahead even of rugby union.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MND Scotland, a charity long supported by Roy.
